Yesterday, American Tire Distributors, Inc. (ATD) celebrated the grand opening of its first regional distribution center (RDC) in McDonough, Georgia. This facility marks a new chapter for ATD as it expands its distribution capabilities in the southeastern United States with “the Network of the Future.”

Located at 250 Declaration Dr., McDonough, Georgia 30253, this state-of-the-art regional distribution center embodies a transformative shift in ATD's distribution network model. It will serve as a central hub, supporting 22 distribution centers across Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. ATD invested $10.5M into the nearly 760,000-square-foot facility, which is set to employ 180 associates and hold 15,000 different SKUs.

“Opening our inaugural regional distribution center in McDonough marks a pivotal moment for American Tire Distributors and our supply chain capabilities,” said Stuart Schuette, President and CEO. “This facility not only exemplifies our commitment to improving the customer experience with faster delivery but also highlights our dedication to bolstering the local economy.”

This new RDC will offer the largest selection of tires, wheels, and other products across ATD’s distribution network. With daily replenishment and improved inventory availability, ATD is poised to provide best-in-class speed, service, and product variety to customers while optimizing costs for vendors. The facility's advanced logistics capabilities will ensure improved inventory management and faster delivery times, ultimately benefiting customers and businesses.

ATD has had a presence in Georgia for nearly 25 years, with facilities in Augusta, Kennesaw, and Tucker. A ribbon-cutting event welcomed the McDonough community into the new facility with remarks from ATD executives, building tours, and a champagne toast. Attendees included representatives from the Henry County Board of Commissioners, Southern Crescent Technical College, the Henry County Board of Education, and the Henry County Development Authority.

“We are proud to be part of the McDonough community and look forward to the enhanced service capabilities this new center will allow us to bring to our customers,” said Schuette.
